Re: Catering Services for Torch Relay Events

The 2010 Torch Relay team has used the services of Peake of Catering during our long standing
relationship at VANOC for Torch kick off events and practice events. Most recently after travelling across
the country on our return home we spent a week at an RV Park before lighting the cauldron at Opening
Ceremonies for the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. During this week Peake of Catering provided us with
healthy and good food for breakfast, bagged lunches and hot dinners every evening for our team of about
250 people. Not only was the food varied and plentiful they also went above and beyond with providing
tablecloths that the crew could write messages to each other on and coloured crayons. The team loved it.
Peake of Catering also sourced and secured the tables and chairs we required for this event.
We have been pleased with our dealings with Peake of Catering and especially their account manager
Melissa Haynes and would recommend their services.

RE: VANOC Food Services

I am pleased on behalf of the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to formalize our satisfaction and appreciation for the food services provided by Peake of Catering under the direction of Melissa Haynes who managed and operated our on-site cafe operations in addition to on-site and off-site catering from 2007 through to the end of the Winter Games in 2010. During that time we found Melissa and her team extremely flexible and attentive to our requests. We were satisfied with their level of service, their presentation, and the quality of their food. We are happy to recommend Melissa Haynes as a manager for similar in-house operations.

RE: Event for the government of Newfoundland and Labrador Tourism, Culture & Recreation

February 25, 2010 will be a day I won’t soon forget. It was a terrific success.

I was able to focus on the other million little things surrounding our Olympic involvement knowing I was in very capable hands.

No was not an option for you and I appreciate the can do attitude, with a smile and the hop to it approach.

Please pass on my thanks to the Chefs for wonderful food and a lovely presentation. To the managers for a beautifully decorated room and rolling with the punches as the venue proved to be more than a challenge. They were gracious and understanding. To the catering staff for their professional service, appearance and smiling faces.

RE: BC Showcase at Robson Square

I wanted to send you a quick note to express our sincere appreciation for the work that your staff does for us every day, and especially today.
 
Our BC Showcase facilitated a very high profile lunch for invitees to a BC / Russia Protocol signing between both jurisdictions today. Attendees to our lunch also included BC companies interested in doing business in Sochi for the 2014 Winter Games.
 
There turned out to be a significantly larger than expected crowd at the event and we had to find a way to increase our lunch order at the very last minute, as well as provide additional resources to meet the needs of our event attendees.
 
Your staff was very resourceful and, as usual, solutions oriented. Alison was extremely proactive in helping us to solve this problem. We have no idea how she did it, but she was able to supply the extra catering we needed on time. Your team made sure the food we had was consistent and delicious.
 
Our clients thought the lunch was very successful. Your staff played a huge role in making this a high value event for us.  Their efforts were sincerely appreciated.  You’ve given us a terrific team.
