Keep Vancouver Spectacular (KVS)
KVS is an annual city-wide litter cleanup campaign that runs each May. The goal is to make our beautiful city an even better place to live, work and visit. In 2007, the City of Vancouver supplied cleanup tools, garbage bags and gloves to over 13,500 volunteers to remove litter and debris from our streets and lanes.
It's the team effort of Vancouver residents that makes the program such a success. Block captains lead the way by organizing neighbourhood cleanups and recruiting volunteers. The City provides the tools and equipment, and will pickup the bags of litter after the cleanup is over.
Mayor Sam Sullivan will kickoff the 2008 Keep Vancouver Spectacular campaign on Saturday, April 26th with an event at the Laughing Bean Coffee Co. (2695 E. Hastings). As a sponsor of KVS, Peake of Catering will be there to provide a delicious breakfast for the volunteers who will conduct a cleanup in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood.
We invite residents and businesses to Join the Team in 2008. To find out more about Keep Vancouver Spectacular and to sign up, please go to vancouver.ca/kvs or call the KVS Hotline: 604-871-6544.
